Warhammer 40,000: Regicide is a brutal take on one of the greatest turn based strategy games of all time. Regicide fuses multiple phases of combat with dynamic action. Maneuver your army into place and unleash a devastating array of tactical abilities to crush your enemies.
The game offers two distinct modes: REGICIDE - Plan the attack and command your soldiers through two phases of combat. Open fire on your enemies, utilise tactical abilities and unleash psychic powers to crush your foes. Fight your way through violent single and multiplayer battles to destroy everything that stands between you and certain victory.
CLASSIC - Sharpen your tactics in both single and multiplayer games based on traditional chess rules, executing brutally violent kills in dramatic battlefield terrains. Select your race and go to war online against opponents from all over the world in the fully cross-platform multiplayer mode. This is only the beginning.
The universe spans untold galaxies to conquer. This is not just war. This is REGICIDE.
The latest in a long line of Warhammer 40,000 games brings a great new strategy and a gorgeous appearance to its chess-based battles. It is an immensely satisfying experience.
I think Regicide is a really cool concept and an interesting adaptation of an already turn-based game with entirely different mechanics.
Chess lovers who were looking for a nice Warhammer-themed battle chess, look no further. The regicide mode is bloody good fun, yet there are a few things that could have been better, such as the monotonous campaign.
Sure, Regicide takes strategy to an all new level, but this level is a tad too brutal for me.
A cute chess set for 40K fans and an unusual twist on the classic game, but skip the campaign.
Summary: Regicide is chess. You are buying a computer chess game. Yes the graphics are tasty and the fight scenes are well done and the atmospherics are exemplary. But it’s Combat Chess with a twist, and not even a big twist.
It’s chess with Space Marines and Orks, and a few twists in the title game mode.
