Isle of Man TT: Ride on the Edge is one of the best bike racing games available, vastly superior to any of Milestone's productions if you're in the market for a good sim. Official content and laser scanned Mountain Course are a bliss, and we only regret a small lack of content.
Overall, TT Isle of Man is merely good, rather than great; the complexity of the handling and the accuracy of the track are very well realised. The hope is that it can scoop up a cult following and we can have some multiplayer fun, otherwise, the replayability just isn't there.
TT Isle of Man has one of the best licenses out there to capture the suicidal excitement of zipping through country villages at 290 kilometers per hour, but the game falls short of everything around the Snaefell course.
TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge could have been the chance of a lifetime for all the motorbike fans. The Snaefell Mountain Course is glorious, the lights are great and wind blows like in an epic tale, but game itself is quite a wasted opportunity. The simcade racing gameplay is harsh and unforgiving, and sometimes you just don’t feel the motorbike. A part from the handling issues, the game lacks of contents beside the Snaefell, and the career mode is flat and emotionless.
TT Isle of Man may be an interesting game for true fans of motorbikes, but with dead multiplayer and small amount of content it won't live for a long time.
TT Isle of Man: Ridge on the Edge deserves praise for its fairly meticulous recreation of the famous event. The sense of speed, high quality audio, and the impressive visuals, amount to a visceral driving experience. This may be reason enough in itself for motorcycle enthusiasts to give it a try, especially since there's an on-going shortage of this type of racer. With that said, though, those hoping for a simulative experience will quickly identify a few shortcomings.
