Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is the essential Borderlands compilation and includes the definitive versions of both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, built specifically for next-gen consoles. PlayStation 4 customers will experience the absolute highest performance and highest fidelity graphics for any Borderlands game ever played on a video game console. For the first time in the franchise’s history, play four-player split screen on a single television, all in stunning high definition.
Experience the entire Handsome Jack saga (including all available bonus add-on content*), from his not-so-humble beginnings to the heights of his egomaniacal tyranny. Continue the adventure by transferring your PS3 or PS VITA saves to the PS4 with the new cross-save functionality.
Borderlands The Handsome Collection is also available on XBox One.
As its own name suggests, this is a handsome collection, since it includes two great games for the price of one. There are very few remasters that can look at it face to face without feeling ashamed.
Providing gamers with two very fun and lengthy games within Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, there is no doubt that this is the ultimate Borderlands experience for everyone.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection represents the definitive opportunity to enjoy two of the most beloved games out there, and the most complete anthology of downloadable content in one package. You can play it on the couch with up to 3 friends to enjoy hours upon hours of healthy jokes and gaming references. Truly, a love letter to nerds.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection offers copious content, two whole games, co-op options, local multiplayer up to four players and cross-save. There are slight differences from the original beyond the visual enhancements, so only those who haven't played the original games could show true interest for Gearbox compilation.
While those with no love for the franchise will, unsurprisingly, find nothing for them here, it does – as a result of the visual upgrades – provide a handsome jumping on point for newcomers, as well as a great way for the Borderlands faithful to catch up on anything that they might have missed.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection isn’t the greatest remaster ever, nor is it the worst.
All in all, this isn’t a bad collection of two fun titles from last-gen, but it hardly feels like a must-have upgrade for anyone that’s played through both Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel already.
