Dreams is the space you go to where you go to play and experience the Dreams PS4 of Media Molecule and its community. It’s also a space in which to create your own dreams, whether they’re games, art, films, music or anything in-between and beyond.
A game that will define all future games. If this masterpiece is running on a PS4, imagine what we could do on a PC.
Dreams is a social network, a content platform, and a creative suite all in one. It's probably the hardest game to review, but it is easy to fall in love with it. It is incredibly polished and does exactly what it promised to. It isn't perfect, but it is as close as it can be given the game's incredible scope and ambition. There are only minor gripes I can report, and even those pale in comparison to the many things that it does right. It's unknown whether Dreams' potential is going to be realized by the community. It isn't at the point where Dreams is a must-buy for the content alone, but it's vital if you're curious about the game development process.
With Dreams, creativity reaches new heights. No, the newcomer will not succeed in creating his indie nugget without spending hours of research and production, but the philosophy of the program can only be congratulated. Media Molecule delivers the ultimate game creation game, even if it requires a personal investment beyond comprehension.
Dreams is possibilities made manifest, and while Media Molecule needs to have a strong hand in curating that experience, its a perfect foundation from which to grow and evolve and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
On one hand, Dreams is a bottomless bag filled with toys, vignettes, and indie games. On the other, Dreams is a must-own for anyone who's ever been curious about game design.
Media Molecule gives us a complete tool with which we feel like authentic video game developers. It takes time, but once you've mastered it, the experience is highly rewarding. The only limit of Dreams is our imaginations.
Dreams is wholly unique in that it gives the common player the tools to create virtually whatever they want. The unfortunate part is that the creations - at least so far and including the levels made by Media Molecule itself - are just not that fun to play. It will, however, be very exciting to see where this game will be in the upcoming months and years.
