Four years of war and a steep price in human lives have not been enough to unlock a deadly stalemate. The Colonials have countered all of the Cylon’s offensives so far, but no decisive victory was achieved. The deadlock is suddenly broken by a surprise attack from the Cylons and the brutal annihilation of the Colonial Fleet High Command on Picon.
The fate of mankind is now resting on the shoulders of Rear-Admiral Lucinda Cain. The secret, cunning plan she has conceived could turn the tide of the war forever….
Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock is a massive treat for fans of the franchise, but even if this is your first exposure to the universe, it’s well worth your money. It’s a sufficiently deep, extremely fun and good looking turn based space strategy game with fantastic combat and a content-rich campaign.
An atmospheric tour of the 12 Colonies of Kobol, before the Fall, during the first Cylon War, that happens to be a fun tactical strategy simulator as well.
Flawed but satisfying combination of epic turn-based tactical gameplay and incredible fidelity to the source material. [Issue#266, p.62]
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock finally gives us a solid game based on the popular franchise. It doesn’t attempt anything new but some polish issues aside it’s a solid strategy game that does a good job of translating the feel of the show.
I like spaceships and if there is still strategy, I am on board. Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock delivers a decent package that can last for around fifteen to twenty hours - once you get used to the fiddly, less intuitive handling.
While Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock has its share of minor problems, they don’t significantly detract from some engaging tactical encounters within a universe of familiar sights, sounds, and Cylons.
A balanced array of tactical options coupled with three-dimensional gameplay creates interesting combat situations, especially in the beginning, before you get tired of playing the same battles again and again.
